Domestic tourists usually choose to spend their holidays in the Serbian mountains or spas; last year, for example, most visited the spas of Vrnjačka Banja and Sokobanja.
The survey on domestic tourists’ attitudes and habits, conducted by the Serbian Tourist Organisation and the agency ProPozitiv from 25th January to 18th March, revealed that 72% of tourists visited one domestic tourist destinations. The majority went on vacation during summer (around 46% of respondents).
The most-visited destinations were Zlatibor, the spas of Vrnjačka banja and Sokobanja, followed by the mountains of Kopanik and Tara, and also spas Niška Banja and Banja Koviljača.
Tourists stated that their motives for holidaying in Serbia were its natural riches, clean air and hospitable climate, medical and health-related reasons, traditional hospitality…
